Well, I’ve recently launched a sister site to this one.  It’s my first photoblog, and I’ve been posting some images, building the library, for the last month or two.  I figured that I might as well post some of my better unrelated work in an online portfolio.  A work in progress, but enjoyable work at that.

Jury is right around the corner, and thankfully it doesn’t fall on a workday.  Will have to see what I can do about being booted off the panel, so open to suggestions

27SepTextureLove Update

a sleepless night led to this one

Using the new Flock browser, which is built ontop of the firefox platform and I have to say, I’m pleasantly surprised.  This browser makes it very easy to manage many of your online presences as well as providing the ability to blog, upload photos, email, and much much more.  Has a lot of potential, and being that it uses Firefox as the basis for the program, it is blazing fast.  The interface leaves a little to be desired, but with so many tools at the click of a mouse its hard to consider it a gripe.  I’m chalking it up to the fact that I like a pretty clean, simple interface, and Flock offers up so many useful utilities, that its hard to gripe about it.

Just a brief update letting you know about some of the new NYC shots I took.  Been having a lot of fun finding all those interesting places and angles that some may not notice.

30JunThe Social Networking Dilemma

I don’t know about you, but keeping track of my online persona gets to be insanely difficult with the number of social networking sites.  MySpace, Facebook, LinkeIn, etc…  The list goes on and on with no apparent end in site.  There has to be a way to pull it all under one identity, but know this is easier said than done.  I believe the worlds scientist are working on it this very minute somewhere in a basement think tank.  That and how to make crazy ridiculous amounts of money.  If they pull it off, they’ll probably get it too.  And do you know what they’ll do with it?  Start a new all encompassing social networking site, lol.  Probably not, but I’ve seen this approach before and hope to god that they think of something better than a social network that pools other social networks.  This just adds another social networking layer, which is fixing the problem using the problem your trying to fix.

The social networking has obviously boomed over the last few years, but as anyone who’s invested in them (not myself) will tell you that the social network scene is still in its infancy/childhood.  There’s bound to be new technologies, be it software or hardware or combination, that will make sitting down at your computer an all encompassing social network experience where we have only a single online identity to rule them all.  Can’t imagine what that technology would be, but not really sure I care.

And why do I rant about this now?  Well, because I’m seeing more and more of my friends use these god forsaken networks and none of them use all of them so I’m stuck with identities on just about every single one of them.  Nevermind the logging in part, that’s not really an issue.  It’s the fact that if I want to let my friends know I just went on vacation and posted some pictures of it, I have to do it 15 times which really sucks.  Who wants to upload the same picture on 15 different social networks.  Shit, who has the time?

25JunMoving My Life

Well, for all those loyal fans out there, all 2 of you, I have recently updated some more of my fine textures.  I know its been to long since my last update, but I have good reason.  You can view them via the Updates page to see the most recent textures I’ve posted.  I want to start shooting a different medium though, something that I can’t find just walking down the street.  Some new fangled textiles or patterns would be great, so I guess I gotta start hunting down these sites in this ever changing metropolis of NYC.

This brings me to my next point.  Being nearly 30, I’ve realized that I need to start putting my childish ways behind me and step up to the plate of responsibility.  I’ve taken for granted alot of the things my life offers me, including those I love, and in turn I’ve come very close to losing it all.  I can’t just hope my problems go away and need to deal with them head on.  I know, a tangent that no one on earth other than myself would care about, but I needed to say it.  Even if its only to my anonymous cohorts in internet crime.

29MayMadhattan

As I make my way through this place and all these interesting sites, I am inundated with views of splendor.  You can always find something unique and interesting to take pictures of.  Whether it be an interesting landscape or a cop directing traffic, it truly is the city that never sleeps.  I’ve updated the NYC gallery with some more of my visual escapades.  Had the chance to just shoot he proverbial “Sh!t” with an old time hometown buddy on Memorial Day which is the reason for many of the updates.  Perfect weather, sun in the sky, not a cloud to be seen. Got some new textures coming down the pipe as well, so stay tuned.

On a side note, I’ve been putting in the map coordinates for each of the pictures taken in or around NYC so you can see where these shots originated.  I look forward to your feedback…

25MayNew NYC Album

As it goes, I’m a wanderer and I like to find new things and places to go and see. Especially if these places are unique and hard to find. The thing about New York City is that there’s plenty of places like these to find. Having a digital camera gives you the freedom to take as many pictures as you want without the fear of waste. If you don’t like, you can delete it, simple as that. So in my travels in and around the boroughs of Madhattan, as I like to call it, I will be taking those pictures that are hard to find. It’s my pleasure to share them with you in the hopes that they may brighten up your day or give you the motivation to make that trip to this wonderful place I call home. Enjoy

23MayTexture Updates

MessyPaint.jpg HardWater.jpg

I have been enjoying my time with my new friend, the all powerful Rebel XSi, still nameless. It’s been about a week since I have had said friend, and I’ve loved every minute of it. With the 300mm lens I had some edumacation to consider.

I‘ve never used one of these zoom lenses and there’s a few things I needed to figure out. At max optical zoom, camera shake is much more prevalent. Creating the blurred background was new to me as well, at least the consciousnous of it. All in all, I’m pretty happy about my new toy and want to share the beautiful images it has produced. So please, if you see something you like, let me know and I’ll try to expand on that.  Head on over to the Textures page to navigate to the gallery and the updates.

21MayYours Truly Updates

LeatherLove2.jpg BlueWeb2.jpg

I have so many pictures I’d love to share but there’s a point where it reaches a limit.  I’ve thrown up some new pictures under the “Yours Truly” album, if you found it that is.  There’s more to come, but need to do some post-processing before I can upload the next batch.  There’s a few nice one’s in the pipe and certainly more to come.  I now have the tool of the trade, at least the camera that provides you with these glorious sights.

On a related note, the textures page now has more links which make the whole viewing process a little easier.  These links include: Updates, Popular, & Random.

There’s a lot to see and getting around to all of them can get a little daunting.  I’m no DeviantArt, but having my own photo site gives me a little more freedom than they would.  Hope everyone enjoys.

21MayThe Transformers Dinner Table

UESGraffit.jpg TreeBark.jpg ClockFace.jpg

This is just one awesome table. It simply doesn’t get any cooler than this for home furniture. Living in NYC, this is one of those ultimate space savers that I would love to have.  This is one of those things where you scratch your head and say, “Why didn’t I think of that?”  Could even possibly qualify as a transformer.  Click on “read more” for the youtube video.
