As I make my way through this place and all these interesting sites, I am inundated with views of splendor. You can always find something unique and interesting to take pictures of. Whether it be an interesting landscape or a cop directing traffic, it truly is the city that never sleeps. I’ve updated the NYC gallery with some more of my visual escapades. Had the chance to just shoot he proverbial “Sh!t” with an old time hometown buddy on Memorial Day which is the reason for many of the updates. Perfect weather, sun in the sky, not a cloud to be seen. Got some new textures coming down the pipe as well, so stay tuned.
On a side note, I’ve been putting in the map coordinates for each of the pictures taken in or around NYC so you can see where these shots originated. I look forward to your feedback…

As it goes, I’m a wanderer and I like to find new things and places to go and see. Especially if these places are unique and hard to find. The thing about New York City is that there’s plenty of places like these to find. Having a digital camera gives you the freedom to take as many pictures as you want without the fear of waste. If you don’t like, you can delete it, simple as that. So in my travels in and around the boroughs of Madhattan, as I like to call it, I will be taking those pictures that are hard to find. It’s my pleasure to share them with you in the hopes that they may brighten up your day or give you the motivation to make that trip to this wonderful place I call home. Enjoy

I have been enjoying my time with my new friend, the all powerful Rebel XSi, still nameless. It’s been about a week since I have had said friend, and I’ve loved every minute of it. With the 300mm lens I had some edumacation to consider.
I‘ve never used one of these zoom lenses and there’s a few things I needed to figure out. At max optical zoom, camera shake is much more prevalent. Creating the blurred background was new to me as well, at least the consciousnous of it. All in all, I’m pretty happy about my new toy and want to share the beautiful images it has produced. So please, if you see something you like, let me know and I’ll try to expand on that. Head on over to the Textures page to navigate to the gallery and the updates.

I have so many pictures I’d love to share but there’s a point where it reaches a limit. I’ve thrown up some new pictures under the “Yours Truly” album, if you found it that is. There’s more to come, but need to do some post-processing before I can upload the next batch. There’s a few nice one’s in the pipe and certainly more to come. I now have the tool of the trade, at least the camera that provides you with these glorious sights.
On a related note, the textures page now has more links which make the whole viewing process a little easier. These links include: Updates, Popular, & Random.
There’s a lot to see and getting around to all of them can get a little daunting. I’m no DeviantArt, but having my own photo site gives me a little more freedom than they would. Hope everyone enjoys.

This is just one awesome table. It simply doesn’t get any cooler than this for home furniture. Living in NYC, this is one of those ultimate space savers that I would love to have. This is one of those things where you scratch your head and say, “Why didn’t I think of that?” Could even possibly qualify as a transformer. Click on “read more” for the youtube video.

Well, after some pain in the ass troubleshooting, I went ahead and recreated the Metals album due to server issues. For some reason, it was the only album that wasn’t viewable for some unknown reason.  You can now view it in all of its intended glory, so please feel free to comment if your feeling ambitious. Still some troubleshooting to do, as the host be 1and1 and they can be difficult at times when it comes to support. Head on Over to the Textures page to link to said album or just click on the “metals” link above me.

On a side note, I just ebay’d the standalone Sony DVD recorder for a cool $100 with free shipping. It normally retails for $250 so I feel proud of myself. I’m sure you know the feeling if you’ve ever won an ebay auction. Only reason I mention it is because it gives me an easy way to backup all the pictures I’m taking. It accepts SD cards, woohoo!
Hey now. Don’t have much for you today, being that it’s a weekend, but what I do have for you is some pretty nifty software. If you’ve seen the Windows Vista debacle, than you have probably seen its funky cool way of switching between windows. I , for one, am going nowhere near that mess of an operating system. I use XP and found this handy little software package amongst my procrastination this week. It’s called Winflip and gives you a much nicer, cleaner, and more telling view of the running applications and switching between them.  You can find the software here.  In the meantime, I’m heading off to a buddy’s engagement party in the wonderful city of Cresskill, NJ. So close to my hometown, I may have to ask the bus driver to swing on by the old house in the best city on Earth; Bogota, NJ.

Well, not to long ago I took on a project that I’ve always wanted to. Ever since I took a class in high school regarding architecture, I always wanted a fully modeled rendition of my living quarters. With the ease of use of Google’s SketchUp, I managed to do just that. I now have an almost fully realized 3d model of my apartment, and the best part about it is that it was modeled to scale down to the inch. I spent a few days running around my apartment with a tape measure ensuring every polygon was correct. Now, this may seem like a trivial task, but my apartment has quite a bit of unusual architecture due to the building’s pipes on the roof above me. Without further adieu, my humble abode.
James Dean once said:
“Dream as if you’ll live forever; live as if you’ll die tomorrow.”
I like to think that everyday we have is a special one and that we should treat it as such. This accompanied with the Golden Rule, “Do unto others…”, is a great starting point to fully realizing your dreams. It’s usually the case that entrepreneurs get their big break with something they know and love. Something that has driven that individual through the years where they saw an opportunity to make it into something bigger, something better. There are elements of this in my life right now and I’m starting to see that opportunity with some help from a cherished loved one. I don’t claim to be a genius, although my useless factoid knowledge is quite impressive (I watch a lot of discovery, NGC, and the History channels), but I’m happy and that’s a good start. Steinback excerpt from “East of Eden“. An excellent vantage on the inspiration of creativity:
“Sometimes a kind of glory lights up the mind of a man. It happens to nearly everyone. You can feel it growing or preparing like a fuse burning toward dynamite[...]Then a man pours outward, a torrent of him, and yet he is not diminished. And I guess a man’s importance in the world can be measured by the quality and number of his glories. It is a lonely thing but it relates us to the world. It is the mother of all creativeness, and it sets each man separate from all other men.“
